The 2024 FFL-MtP season has been over for now for a few weeks. I thought I’d wrap up a few things.
I’ve finally completed the 2024 Awards file and sent it off to Rusty so he can close the books. Remember, this is Rusty’s last year doing the numbers. If anybody is interested in taking over for 2025, please step forward. I’ve never done the League Accounting, but I don’t think it is that difficult or complicated; all it takes is a little bit of time commitment, kind of like doing the Weekly Reports.
Congratulations once again to Eric and the Burlington Cascade. From missing the playoffs in 2023 and winning the 1st Overall Pick by 0.03 points last season, Cascade put together a nice season and carried that momentum throughout the 2024 playoffs. With Ja’Marr Chase scoring an incredible 321.50 fantasy points over the whole NFL season and a phenomenal 292.60 points scored regular our FFL-MtP season, Chase surely was Burlington’s MVP. And, if you can believe it, guys like Kenneth Gainwell, Trey Sermon, and yes, even the “Unicorn” himself, Kyle Pitts, were all drafted ahead of Chase during our 2021 draft.

2025 First Round Draft Order:
Seattle. Fell one game and maybe a tie-breaker or two from making the playoffs this season. Who know what they could have done in the playoffs had they been able to make it as the Thrashers outscored EVERYONE during Weeks 14 through 16. Of course, actual week-to-week matchups would have played a part but still, that shows Seattle had a strong team over the full course of the season and yet not quite strong enough.
Door County. The clowns hailing from Little Harbor, Wisconsin, have the 2nd Overall pick for the second year in a row and a Top-2 pick in three of the last four drafts. You’d think with as many high picks as the Destroyers have had recently, a decent team would emerge at some point.
Rivercity. The Ravens were the sixth-highest scoring team this season, yet finished tied for the second-worst record in the league at 4 – 9. Go figure. Total points? Power Rank?? All-Play anyone???
Lynchburg. It’s tough to take over a roster one month or so before the start of the season while trying to figure out the rules as well. Only a couple of games they got blown out and were fairly close in all others. Not too bad for the first season.
Urbandale. At 6 – 7, finished one game out of a tie-breaker determined playoff spot. Looks to have a couple of decent Rookie-Keeper building blocks in Bucky Irving and Ladd McConkey going forward, to go along with veteran studs QB Lamar Jackson and WR Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Chicago. Another 6 – 7 team that finished just one game out of a potential playoff spot. Five NFL starting QBs and one on IR, although we only start one in our league. Depth is good to have though.
New Orleans. By winning the consolation 5th – 6th place game in Week 15, the Skunks will pick at 1.07 in the 2025 draft.
Keithsburg. As a result of losing the Week 15 consolation game, the Swarm picks at 1.08.
Lockridge. By winning the 3rd – 4th place consolation game in Week 16, the Storm will pick at 1.09 in 2025. For only the second time in the past five years, the Destroyers have not acquired the Storm’s first round pick – yet.
Alcatraz. As the loser of the Week 16 consolation game, the Assassins will be picking 10th in the 1st round in 2025.
Flint River. The Maulers had an interesting run to the Championship Game as they just about doubled-up the Swarm in the Wild Card round, then squeaked out a two-point win in the Divisional round against the Storm, and then were the lowest-scoring team during Championship Week in Week 16.
Burlington. All hail Burlington. Cascade won their first championship, although not the franchise’s first as Burlington’s roots date back to the old Mount Union Rage franchise.
Below is the draft order for the second and subsequent rounds. Note: the order follows the worst-to-first format based on the finish of regular season records.
